Sarah Lavan grew up in North America and moved to Ireland in 1994. She is currently the Community Education Facilitator with Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB). Sarah has worked in the area of Adult Education and Community for over 15 years, as a youth worker, adult education tutor and adult literacy organiser. As Community Education Facilitator, Sarah plans, develops and manages the WWETB’s Community Education Programme. In her work, she supports participation in education and promotes, develops and nurtures new and existing community based learning opportunities across County Wexford. Sarah has a keen interest in the areas of culture, literacy and transformative education. She holds a MA in Adult & Community Education from NUI Maynooth and an MA in Poetry Studies from the Irish Centre for Poetry Studies, Mater Dei.
